Senior Product Manager



Company:$50-million North American manufacturer of functional Meat, Dairy, Nutraceutical and Biopharmaceutical ingredients for human and animal health.

KEY INITIATIVES:
The Product Manager is responsible for managing the sale of all Company’s functional proteins in North America via direct contact with customers and in supporting the efforts of the entire sales organization. Calling on his or her technical and sales experience specific to functional proteins, the Product Manager will work to identify and exploit business opportunities with new and existing customers; provide technical expertise and support to customers and internal constituents; Support the Technical Group in application and product development initiatives; provide direction and subject matter expertise to the sales organization; identify and develop new markets; and contribute to divisional growth objectives. Furthermore, the Product Manager is tasked with designing and implementing corporate strategies and tactics related to the sale of Company’s Functional Proteins, as well as managing a total program of seller-buyer relationships within existing and prospective customer organizations. The Product Manager will have future leadership and P&L responsibilities for the Company’s Functional Protein Product Category.

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales Engineer will be responsible for delivering exemplary pre-sales technical presentations, demonstrations, and consultations to this company’s customers and partners. Responsible for pre-sale and/or post-sale support of company products/systems. Provides technical support in sales presentations, product demonstrations, and customer consultations to ensure solutions are functioning according to specifications. Provides answers to customer inquires concerning system software and applications and provides software development and consultation to prospective users. Minimal travel required

Smithfield, FreshMark, Keystone, Perdue, Kraft Foods, Hatfield, Boar’s Head, Sara Lee, Tyson and Kunzler’s among others.

PROPERTIES AND FUNCTIONALITIES:
Said meat-protein ingredients are ideal for meat, savory, prepared foods, snacks and nutritional applications. Company’s ingredients provide several features and benefits, including improved flavor, increased functionality, added nutritional value, improved texture, and increased cook yield, all while reducing drying time, formulation costs, and purge. NOTE: As similar properties and functionalities are derived from Soy, Starch, Gelatin and/or Carrageenan, candidates with a background in one of these specific materials may be of particular interest.

REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a BS degree in a technical discipline such as Food Science, Meat Science, Biology, etc. Minimum of 5-10 years experience in the ingredient, meat, poultry and/or food processing industries required. A combination of national and key account sales, functional protein (starch, gelatin, carrageenan, etc) sales and technical sales would be ideal. As this position is focused on the meat industry, said industry experience is needed.

COMPENSATION:
$90k - $110k + UNCAPPED bonus and GUARANTEED 2-year bonus equal to 30% of base.
